My approach

Your path in life is something you decide for yourself. As your counselor, therapist or coach, I offer professional guidance, expertise, and a safe space where you can work through the challenges you are facing, towards the goals you wish to achieve.

Most clients find the internal family systems approach brings them a sustained relief and enhanced quality of life. Depending on the situation, I draw from humanistic, relational, cognitive-behavioral, hypno-systemic, and body-centered, focusing approaches which are all soundly based on neuroscience research. Emotional freedom technique (tapping), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), and sound therapy are also methods some clients find particularly helpful.

In the end, it depends a lot on what you feel comfortable with at any particular time during the process. If you enjoy a creative approach, activities like painting and writing can also become a part of the process, and many clients find mindfulness activities can be very effective at improving how they cope with negative stress.

Since internal conflicts can be expressed through our bodies, it can also be helpful to consider any physical symptoms you may be experiencing and how they are being addressed. If you are suffering from a physical condition, it is very important that you first seek the advice of a medical doctor or family practitioner. However, many of the approaches I use can be used as complementary therapy as a way to ease pain and discomfort.

Coaching, counseling, and psychotherapy are all opportunities for personal exploration and development. By committing to the process, you can gain a deeper understanding of what you are feeling, and why you are feeling it. You can also learn to understand what drives you, what your true goals are, and why some things that may seem irrational to others, are important to you. Together, we work to help you manage your emotions constructively, and to make positive, lasting changes that improve your quality of life.
Whatever the reason you come to me, I will listen to you and give you my full attention. I will do my utmost to provide you with a safe place to express yourself, share my knowledge and experience, and give you as much support as I can.

Along the way, you can expect me to make suggestions, and offer you different perspectives on your situation. Sometimes I may even challenge you to make changes in your life. But, it's your life, and I will never tell you how to live it.
